We have two small children, a boy and a girl. My wife and I decided very early on that we wanted our children to attend Martial Arts. We not only wanted our children to be able to defend themselves but also wanted them to experience the structure, discipline and both the physical and mental development that studying Martial Arts brings. Our little boy started in October 2021 at the age of 5, and our little girl started in March 2023 at the age of 4. Since they started our little boy has gone up four belts, and is now going for his brown belt with a white stripe. Our little girl has gone up one belt, and is now going for her yellow belt with a white stripe. We have been surprised by how much fun the instructors make each session. Both of our children love attending, so much so that they attended the Matt Fiddes Summer Camp this summer and thoroughly enjoyed the week they spent there. Our little boy has matured a lot during his time at Matt Fiddes Martial Arts. We have noticed his behaviour, attitude and focus have all improved significantly. He registered for the Matt Fiddes British Championships and was entered into three events in October 2023, winning 2 x Gold and 1 x Silver. This achievement has only served to increase his commitment to Martial Arts, and we can see a steady increase in his maturity. Our little girl has become much more confident during her time as Matt Fiddes Martial Arts. We have noticed that she now approaches almost all situations with a steely confidence. She has asked if she can participate in the Regional Championships alongside her brother in May 2024. We would not hesitate to recommend Matt Fiddes Martial Arts to any parent that wants to see their child develop important physical and social skills that will aid them throughout their life.

I’ve signed up my son for Martial arts when he was three years old. Main reason was that he was very shy and never really stood up for himself and the kids was taking his toys in a playground etc. I was worried that he would get bullied or be picked on at school. Not long after he joined I could see massive difference in his confidence and also he was more sociable. All instructors are absolutely amazing with the kids and it doesn't only teach them self defence but also how to listen to grown ups, be respectful and stay away from negative peer pressures. He is 8 years old now and I know that I couldn’t make a better choice. I know that if he will get into the trouble he will have the skills to protect himself. He loves classes so much and want to become instructor himself. I’ve signed up also my daughter when she was three years old, now she is 6 and she loves it as much as her brother.
